I was having an issue similar to this where the microphone volume kept readjusting to a level that was too low. Perhaps InSync has fixed the problem but we found dual DSP chips simply required too much power. Our problem with the Buddy 7G drawing too much power and quite literally getting hot, to the touch, after about 15 minutes. The only time we ran into a problem was with larger microphone elements like the Sennheiser MD 431 II and Samson Airline 77 but it's obviously working for you. We found the Buddy 7G soundcard to be typically acceptable with smaller microphone elements.
